What Inspired Me To Become a Caregiver Pt. 2

Part Two of a Two-Part Series

computer-learning

In my previous blog, I discussed why I chose to pursue caregiving as a career. All of the benefits that come along with this career choice were held close to my heart. After doing some research on different caregiving training programs, I decided that it would be wise to stay in my home state of New Jersey in order to complete my training. I lived in Central Jersey at the time, near Princeton, and one of my main problems with the programs offered was the commute. I was looking for something local and easily accessible.

That’s when I stumbled upon Pawson Career Institute.

Why PCI?

I chose Pawson Career Institute for a number of reasons. This organization stuck out to me because they put emphasis on being flexible and working with your schedule in order to get you certified.

Online Classes: The Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) program offers its training courses in an online format. This was advantageous to me because I could complete my sessions in the comfort of my own home without having to drive to a facility. I also could proceed with the material at my own pace within guidelines, and I could attend class in my PJs! I really enjoyed the online courses and highly recommend the online CHHA program to anyone who may have scheduling or flexibility issues.

Employee Testimonials: Reading all of the positive feedback provided by Comfort Keepers employees helped me choose PCI. Most employees describe the job as rewarding and flexible. They also state that they love their clients and have learned so much from them. Many of the testimonials end with a note about urging you to become a Home Health Aide.

Client Testimonials: In addition to hearing what employees were raving about, I also considered what the clients had to say about the company. Most reviews were thanking their caregivers for providing excellent service. One review even expressed gratitude for being diligent and taking his loved one to the hospital when she suspected pneumonia.

With both testimonials in mind, as well as the added benefit of completing my training online, I was hooked. I couldn’t wait to get started on this journey. I officially began the process by filling out an online enrollment form on the company’s website.
