The health and safety of our students and instructors is of the upmost importance to us.

The following actions have been undertaken upon reopening our CHHA program in the midst of the global COVID-19 pandemic:

A copy of this restart plan will be distributed to all current and future students and has been distributed to teachers and staff.

Signs are posted in the school advising of the signs and symptoms of COVID19, the requirements for social distancing, the use of face coverings, hand washing for at least 20 seconds, use of hand sanitizer of at least 60% alcohol content, and respiratory etiquette in coughing or sneezing into the elbow or a tissue.

Lisa Cugasi, RN, Instructor, has been identified as a designated contact person within the school to whom concerns or questions can be addressed.

We are adhering to safety standards as set forth by CDC:

Our training room HVAC system is maintained annually three times per year.

Due to the size of our training room, a maximum of two students and two instructors are permitted per two-day skills sessions to permit physical distancing of six feet at all times.

Students are advised to limit their activities to the training room and bathroom therein, which is supplied with 75% alcohol wipes, gloves and hand soap and paper towels.

The training room door is kept locked at all times and only students or instructors are permitted therein.

Instructors and students begin their two-day skills sessions with daily temperature checks, Covid screenings and physical sign-in sheets.

Masks are worn throughout skills days and proctored testing.  Students are encouraged to take their lunch breaks outside, weather permitting.

Proctored final exams are conducted with one to two students maximum separated by sliding plastic barriers with one instructor present.
