Program and Application Process for the NJCA CHHA Course

Step 1: Applicants must first complete the online home health aide application which can be accessed and submitted by clicking the 'Enroll' tab.

Step 2: Applicants are required to then pay a $100 non-refundable registration fee which can be accessed by clicking the 'Payments' tab. Registration fee must be received to secure desired session. Applications for each session will be received on a first come first-served basis.

Step 3: Once the application and $100 registration fee is received, a staff member will contact you to confirm acceptance into a session.

Step 4: Each session is run like a university semester. On the first day of class, you will be provided credentials via email to access your online modules. You have exactly six weeks: until 11:59pm on the Sunday before your scheduled skills session to complete these modules. At that time, the course has ended and your online account will automatically deactivate. Failure to complete your online modules within the dates of the course will result in a non-passing grade in the course. To continue, you must re-enroll in another session. If you have already paid your remaining balance for the skills session - this can be refunded to you. The $100 initial deposit is non-refundable.

Step 5: Students will schedule their clinical skills date with the program coordinator. Session(s) will include clinical skills review and evaluation and a 1-hour proctored final exam. All online modules and remaining balances must be paid in full before completing your clinical skills.

Step 6:   Once you complete and pass the CHHA course, you will work directly with our staff to complete the online CHHA application with the New Jersey Board of Nursing (NJBON).  The following documents will be required to be uploaded when completing the online application:

  1. Birth certificate

  2. Marriage license if name is different than birth certificate or divorce decree

  3. 2 x 2 passport photo

  4. Proof of US Citizenship, Legal Alien or other immigration documents

  5. Credit card or bank debit card to pay the NJBON application fee ($80.00 or $65.00 alternate years) as noted when completing the online application
